Types of Fat Layers
When fat accumulates in excess of the needed level, it not only ruins your beauty but also causes health problems, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart diseases and arthritis. Removal of fat in the subcutaneous tissue can address such beauty and health problems.
What is the Tumescent Method Liposuction?
Important factors in performing the liposuction are the amount of blood loss and the fat suctioned. The most critical part is to safely remove as many fat tissues as possible in order to produce the greatest effects. Conventional liposuction can remove 1,000 to 2,000 cc of fat. However, 5,000 to 6,000 cc of fat must be removed to deliver remarkable results. Removal of such an amount using conventional procedures often requires blood transfusion or causes health threats. To avoid such risks, Tumescent liposuction involves the injection of Ringer’s lactate solution mixed with anesthetic, blood vessel contractors, and neutralizers into the area where the fat to be removed. Ten to twenty minutes later, only the yellow fat will be extracted from the area.
Types of Liposuction
Based on Instruments
Suction-assisted liposuction This procedure uses a vacuum sucker and a tiny tube, through which the fat is suctioned. Despite its wide use in the past, its use decreased with the introduction of ultrasonic procedures. Nowadays, it is on the rise again because the ultrasonic procedure is known to cause many complications.
Ultrasonic liposuction This procedure used to be widely used because of its advantage of selectively dissolving fat. But due to its disadvantages, such as excessive heat and longer recovery phase after theoperation, it is nowadays far less used. This method has been rejected in a number of countries, including the US because of emerging problems. Currently, its use is restricted to dissolving solid fat or suctioning fat on the back. Today a new type of ultrasonic instrument is being developed, which focuses on reducing excessive heat.
Lipomatic liposuction This is a combination of conventional liposuction and power-driven tremor so that the tube can get through the fat layer more easily. This is intended to consume less strength of the operator. One of the shortcomings is that it can cloud the sensibility of the operator. The depth and the location of removal should be determined by the operator’s skill, but the motor-driven the tube can fail to convey the feeling of the site to the operator.
Based on Instruments
Deep liposuction This procedure is used for a general-purpose liposuction. The thickness of this layer determines whether to remove or not. Removal of this layer can make the skin droopier. Hip, in particular, should be the last part to be removed in this layer.
Superficial liposuction The suction of subcutaneous fat leads to droopiness of the skin. This procedure is intended to attach the skin to the body effectively when the fat is removed. Only experienced and the skilled doctor must perform this procedure, otherwise, the skin can sag or overhang.
